Energy is Everything

The suit of Cups is a journey of mastering our energy flow through accepting our worthiness.  When we are at home in a feeling of worthiness, we effortlessly tap into the everlasting fountain of Source - the outpouring of energy is infinite, providing value, acceptance, love, and fulfillment.  We ARE the divine flow - our talents, time, passion, care, attention, creativity, money, love - all that we have to give to the world comes from the One!  We flow into others (and the collective world), we mix with the energy of people and our environments.  Energy interacts, exchanges, and radiates - even though we don’t SEE it.

We master our own energy through choosing ourselves, and having relationship with the One.  When we do not feel worthy of free energy from Source, we get stuck in a false paradigm that will never fill us up - we try to get fulfillment, acceptance or fair treatment from what is outside of us.  We try to please others, pouring endlesly into circumstances, people, or ideas in hopes that what we have to give will be enough.  We naively excuse energetic users.  We over-give to the point of exhaustion, becoming drained and, in some cases, controlled by others who take our energy and give nothing back.  If we keep playing the giver role, or allow ourselves to keep being TAKEN from, that role becomes a view we hold of ourselves, and can keep us from feeling worthy of being filled simply by the fresh new energy of the divine.

We all want to experience mutual fulfillment, where energies feel balanced, harmonious, and respectful - but the hard lesson is that we cannot expect that from every situation, and that we must learn to discern what is truly being asked of us.  Without the recognition of worthiness, we are not an endless stream.  We only have so much to give, when we are giving to something that doesn’t serve us in the least.  We must develop discernment to seek out who or what deserves our energy - to find where our value will be respected, and 

where reciprocity is naturally honored.  

But we won’t find these positive interactions by demanding them.  If we want to experience positive energy, fulfillment in community, and a mutually beneficial flow with others, we have to choose ourselves first.  This may feel counterintuitive, but removing ourselves from the “giver” role and allowing ourselves to stop the leak provides us an opportunity to be replenished by our own presence, and the connection to the divine.  When we discover what our energy truly comes from - from self and from Source - we hold ourselves with a higher value!  We know what we bring - no longer available to be drained, sapped, or guzzled.  Only THEN will we be secure enough to encounter draining people or situations, and realize that some things are not our job to fulfill.  We can choose NOT to pour ourselves exhaustively into things that cannot hold our energy. 

This pulling back is not stingy, it is intelligent.  We were never called to be the thirst quencher for all the world.  And by pulling back, we get re-acquainted with how our own energy feels.  When we’re too close with certain people or circumstances that are draining us, the energy mixes and we can get confused with whose energy is whose, or where the boundaries between us are…. But in stepping back, into ourselves and into the presence of god, we can soak in the quality of energy that resonnates within - the same quality of energy we will feel when we are around the right people for us.  We will have developed discernment for finding like-minded, like-souled people - a collective where everyone lifts everyone up, where joy loves company, and energy spirals upwards in joy, in love, in excitement and in harmony.
