Hi, I'm Gillian.

You may know me as “Enlightenment Barbie,” the rainbow-drenched psychedelic artist who creates deities, goddesses, and icons - that’s true!  But the visual side of my artwork only tells part of my story.  

Before I began creating as “Enlightenment Barbie,” I had a flash moment of sudden, accidental spiritual awakening - I called it “the Big Zing” - there was only ONE thing in existence, and I was IT - god experiencing god, dancing with itself forever.  Fear, lack, and need EVAPORATED.  Suddenly, I walked in complete freedom from the shackles of consensus reality.  I began proselytizing about what I had discovered - begging people to see the truth - but they didn’t listen.  The richest experiences I had seemed destined to remain isolated within me... until now.

There is no final state - we don’t come to an end of our spiritual awakening - the soul eternally journeys through the physical and the ethers, learning and growing in infinity.  My journey?  Well, the ZING permanently changed me, but the insidious “matrix” of the modern world began leaking into my aura.  I thought, perhaps, I was BROKEN - and began believing that my “ZING” was nothing more than a manic episode.  Surrounding myself with broken people crystallized this identity.  It nearly killed me.  But a series of smart moves, and the “chance” presence of guardian angels, saved my life.  I began to re-build my spark, cultivate true self-love, and choose things that were right for me.  

My greatest art has been this integration - I had to become merely human to fully integrate what I experienced in being EVERYTHING - to become the spiritual philosopher that healed me.  Now, I have found blessed balance in, and AS, the Eternal ONE, AND the Ephemeral human.  So, from THIS place, I now can share the richness of my favorite artform - experiencing, noticing, interacting, observing, and co-creating with - and AS - the great ONE thing.  This is the heart of this deck - experiencing eternal becoming.  THIS, too, IS ART.
