Authentic Expression

What is your authentic expression?  The suit of Flowers guides us through the journey of personal growth, the process of change, and the creative expression of ourselves in our greatest beauty!  Each card explores energetic flavors of the journey towards creating and expressing with authenticity and magnificence. 

 

The first four cards explore creative blocks and mental hurdles we may encounter on the way towards growing an incredible garden.  When we discover limited mindsets, drains on resources, and improper environments that inhibit our expresison, we can prune and purify, discovering (in the later cards) the truth of our authentic expression, and how it wants to be nurtured - then cultivate it with care, watching it burst into glorious bloom in the world!

 

The suit of Flowers brings focus inward, onto anything you are growing, nurturing, creating or expressing - creative projects, your expression in the world, or even your personal growth towards becoming a new YOU.  Along this journey, we need to know what to let go of in order to GROW - and we need to know what we DO need in order to become our greatest expression!  We often come to the understanding of what DOES work by seeing obviously what does NOT work... This suit encourages reflection on what is most fertile and nurturing for us.

 

What conditions allow for our authentic expression?  Being around the right energies, people, and situations that support our becoming - having the time, attention, and passionate devotion to give to our creation - self-love and self appreciation, knowing that we have a vision that we believe in - having the freedom to express, not bound by the expectations or desires of others - and being single-minded and passionate about what we want to do, not 

distracted by what was, or what might be.

 

What inhibits growth and expression?  Being fearful - of not being good enough, of failure, of not having enough to show for ourselves, and letting that stop us… ruminating on past mis-remembered energies and imaginary futures, instead of being present in the now… the energy feeling off, the improper environment (mentally, emotionally, physically, energetically), people that don’t uplift us, the pressure to express under someone else’s terms… the dead weight that drains our resources (our time, attention, focus) - extraneous things.

 

Discovering our core authenticity is what opens the door to the ideal conditions for THRIVING expression!   When everything extraneous, inaffective or inauthentic burns away, our “why” becomes purified and our vision comes into greatest focus.  We are left with our own pristine inner truth beneath it all.  That is the seed that produces the most gorgeous blooms - it is the principle, the desire, the motivation that allows us to shine most brilliantly in life!

 

If a flower does not bloom, we examine the plant.  What is the condition of its leaves?  What nutrients is is getting?  Is the time or location not ideal for its growth?  These are all things I’ve had to ask myself at times - not only as an artist, but as a human who wanted to be authentically ME, and wasn’t sure why I felt so stuck and stifled from being able to BLOOM.  To personify the self, the expression, and the potential of becoming as a delicate flower invites a greater sense of gentleness and kindness.  We do not have to force ourselves to grow, or be rough with ourselves - we are allowed to gently try to understand how to help ourselves blossom.  I hope these cards invite you to tenderly care for your own becoming.
