The Ego Mind - & - The Spirit

The Human - & - The One Source

Will our ego mind surrender and allow spirit to transform us?  The divine pulls us into change and transformation, sometimes with us kicking and screaming, trying to escape the inevitable new horizons that await us. Our stubborn egos perceive fear, and our thoughts run wild with reasons to stay the same - we just love to fight with god.

"I want what I want, I do what I feel like doing."

- Which really means -

"I like maintaining my illusion of comfort or normalcy-"

"I'm justifying habits that keep me stagnant-"

"My limited mind knows all the answers - That's not true, but I'm too scared of the unknown, so I'll just keep pretending..."

Our hyper-individualized culture makes staunch independence and over-identification with EGO seem powerful, admirable, and badass - which, yes, it can be - unless Spirit is asking us to look towards our greater evolution.  Often, our resistance blocks the creative potential that the higher power is pouring towards us, and into us - we let our own desires (false sense of certainty, rigid self-labels, habits, justifications, & limited perspectives)  devour the plans that Spirit has for us.

Change is beautiful - but MY GOD, is it also disruptive!  When Spirit, Source, or Higher Self asks us to trust it- to LET it take us on a journey into transformative change - we often get uncomfortable, the justifications come, and we resist out of fear.

But Spirit doesn't give up.  It just keeps dogging us to have faith, let go of the reins, and fall into the depths with it - into a place where we will totally dissolve, be made completely brand new, and emerge with bold, beautiful, powerful wings to fly into new destinies that are waiting for us.  Spirit reminds us that our noisy thoughts, the limits our own ego puts on us, and even cultural conditioning are merely cages that we don’t have to stay in.  If we trust the whispers of Spirit that are beckoning us towards the depths of transformation and change, true freedom can be found - it is possible for us to live as boundless beings, ever-becoming expressions of spirit living through us!

We must be WILLING to be made into brand new beings - learning to surrender the ego and lay aside our own desires - allowing the Universe to shape us into something more beautiful for the future that IT sees waiting for us.  We cannot see that future - only the all-knowing ONE can see it - but with trust, faith, and willingness, we can enter into these beautiful new phases of becoming with joy.  What it has in store for us is beyond our wildest dreams.

The hardest part?  The chrysalis.  Take heart - it gets DARK in there.  We experience complete dissolution - even pain, loss, and confusion - but this is ALSO our incubation - nurturing, waiting, becoming.  Spirit takes us completely apart, then puts us completely back together - in a NEW configuration that will stun and surprise us, once we emerge and see our new wings.  Will you follow the pull of divine transformation?
