The Journey

The Angel of Death approaches, a harbinger of endings and transmutations.  Though she comes to close this chapter, do not fear the unknown afterlife of this situation.  Practice acceptance, and approach it with curiosity - you might find that death is not what you thought it was.

As far as we know, we can't fully know what death truly entails - none of us will, till we face it.  And while drawing this card almost certainly doesn't mean you're going to experience death tomorrow, you may instead be facing the end of something that was so long-standing in your life that you started to think of it as immortal. 

We can't know what is behind that veil.  We can only know that it's inescapable, inevitable, and mysterious.  So, instead of trying to turn back time, do something over, reverse the spell of death and control what is happening, the ONLY course of action is to accept it.  Of course, grieve it - of course, be angry about it - the pain of loss is allowed to be here - but in the end, acceptance is the only outcome.

Walk with this angel of death with curiosity.  Often, the fear of the unknown causes our minds to make up stories to try and make sense of it - stories that reinforce our fear of it, and bolster our resistance to it.  But coming into conscious communion with it opens UP the truth of the experience itself - without conceptual overlays, stories we tell ourselves, or fear-based bargaining, the totality of an ending can be seen for what it is.  And it's often much different than we expect - it's not complete pain, but contains glimmers of transformation.  It is not total terror, but rather a subtle slipping away.  Maybe it turns out to have not really hurt, at all!  And on the other side lies a brand new, mysterious world to explore.
