The Journey

Sometimes a storm comes that is SO massive, that the landscape cannot hold the water - change is forced.  The ground is swept away, completely reshaping the landscape.  Witnessing a flash flood as violent as this is harrowing - but that's all you can do - WITNESS it.  ALLOW the grand forces of nature reshape your inner or outer landscape.

Is it terrifying?  Yes - Is it powerful? Yes - Overwhelming?  Obviously.  But, in this stage, resist the urge to be emotionally swept away by what's happening - and instead, allow mindsets or circumstances to be swept away.  A new identity awaits you on the other side of this flood.

How to take a grounded approach to witnessing this sweeping change?  Name the waters of change, name the changes, and name the parts that have been swept away.  Name the new territory that gets revealed, after the flood waters subside.  Remove the ego, briefly, and take an objective look at the situation - was this completely inevitable, outside your control?  Or did the levy have to break in order for you to see this change, that needed to happen for a while now?

Let the ego come back, and grieve if you need to.  Or, maybe this is a welcome change - celebrate if you need to!  Sometimes the things that change when we least expected them to, end up being for a beautiful purpose.  After all, flowers will bloom after all that hard rain.
