In the glen, you pause - the shade and cool breeze feels so soothing, and the terrain ahead looks... well... un-inviting.  But a guardian angel appears - "Are you ready for an interesting journey into uncharted territory?" She asks.  It doesn't really matter if you feel ready, or not - the guardian knows that you inherently are ready - and that guardian will be with you, every step of the way.

 

We don't ever feel ready for rough roads, or intrepid journeys that we don't think we chose for ourselves.  But Source often has greater plans for us, that we can't see - and a Spirit sees a greater version of us lying just ahead, that we mortals have to radically trust in order to eventually see ourselves become.

Each time we fall, get back up, and keep going, an old part of us dies and a new wisdom is born.  The beauty of the hard path is that it constantly creates a new version of us.  The Guardian holds a ram skull - a reminder that our hard-headed beliefs, assumptions, and ego will probably die out there - but the journey will transform us and make us into something brand new, and never before seen.
