​What are you reflecting?​​

When we truly merge with the all, we become almost completely indistinguishable from it.  As a mirror, we reflect what that surrounds us.  Our integration with the Eternal Ephemeral ONE produces a reflection of that timeless dynamism, not clinging to personality or identity, but transmitting the perfect truth of the universe, simply by BEING.

 

When our own faces fall away, we are able to greet the energy of all things and people with reverence - we are just the ONE, looking at the ONE.  This is not a revelation or epiphany, but rather, a quiet humility and gratitude in profound unity that abides in all circumstances.  A unity that is unbreakable, even if we forget it temporarily, thanks to our world of distractions - because there's nothing but one, always has been, and always will be.

Are you a spiritual mirror?  I've experienced being this from time to time, and it can be polarizing - when we speak to others, we reflect back to them the all that is in them.  This is not about echoing words or behaviors, but done by some kind of more mysterious magic.  A great sage can find what is hidden within the student, and speak it into existence, showing it to them as a mirror, meeting them exactly where they are.  And, on a basic level, we normal folks are also capable of acting as a mirror to people we meet, sometimes without realizing it is happening.

 

How this is received by others depends completely upon what is within them - those souls with anguish, self loathing and great suffering hidden within may grow to hate us, because they're seeing themselves reflected for the first time - and conversely, those with a great deal of hope, joy, and curiosity within will find us invigorating, because they can see themselves for the first time.  This may happen with a specific person, but not with others - it also may happen with many people for a season of life, and then end.

 

We also encounter our own spiritual mirrors in our lives - things that somehow cause us to see ourselves more clearly - opportunities to learn hard lessons or find greater self compassion and truth within.
