The Journey

A stronghold is crumbling - something long thought to be of high importance, permanence, or safety is being destroyed.  This may feel like total chaos - but this demolition is in perfect timing.  Why the fall?  To reveal truth.  With that truth comes wisdom - all the cracks are being revealed, and a new understanding of what builds something worth depending on is rising to the surface.

The crumbling strongholds include both the inner {personality, over-identification, past self, old habits, old mindsets} and the outer {relationship, governments, traditions, corporations, institutions, systems of power}.  Which one are you witnessing fall?

Inner Strongholds - when we cling to the castles of our personality - our particular title or ability, the concept others have of us, or outdated thinking and acting - the pain of the demolition is unimaginable.  At first.  When these things prove to be something we must ALLOW to fall down, ego can go into crisis.  Life may ask us to take on a different role, or step into a new version of ourselves - or, life can take these things away from us via illness or accident.  Let's not pretend that it's not devastating.

Grieve if you need to.  Take time to do that.  It's normal to freak out a little - this was something you trusted as "real" in your experience.  And then, you can start to rebuild something better, safer, on solid ground.  Promise yourself that you will make it.  (You WILL.)  If you welcome this change, celebrate.  Make the new construction something you're proud of.  But remember - don't cling too tightly, or you could face disappointment in equal measure each time a change happens.

Outer Strongholds - This system or relationship is becoming obsolete - soon you will have a greater wisdom about why this had to happen.  The lightning hit so hard that it cracked open the corruption for all to see.  Go easy on yourself - this is not your fault.  Let it fall, and let this experience teach you how to build something better in the future.
