The Journey

"I didn't know then, what I know now."  A hard lesson has been learned, a naive assumption or manner of thinking has gotten you into trouble.  You will survive this, and ideally, you will learn from this.

Your wide-eyed, innocent approach to life can put you in the crosshairs of hunters who want to take you down.  But, don't beat yourself up - let what you've learned propel you forward with resilience, strength, a pure heart and a strong wit!

It completely stings when our illusions of an ideal world are shattered.  When people aren't who they say they are, when word turns out not to be bond, when trust is broken, a little piece of our own idealism wants to shatter with it.  But hold your horses - first, learn the lesson, learn to vet people, learn to test if your inherently trusting attitude truly applies (for your own safety).  But THEN - this is crucial - your idealism DOESN'T have to die!

Our idealism can actually THRIVE following situations like this - it can still transform the world, because it lives as HOPE within us.  Hold onto that sunny side!  And, while you do, you can practice using wisdom and discernment to investigate if the person, situation, or organization is actually truthful, fair, kind, and principled - or perhaps malevolent and underhanded.  Examining this before committing or acting can become your superpower - because, guess what?  In time, you'll find that avoiding certain things was a bullet dodged - the vetting worked - AND - other situations or relationships WILL BE a match to your idealism!  The vetting worked!  That's the upside!
